About the Mission Community FoundationThe Mission Community Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization, which collects funds from donors and invests these funds, using the income for the benefit of the citizens of the Mission area, in the fields of education, recreation, culture, and the humanities.
ABOUT THE MISSION COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Mission Community Foundation believes in a simple concept we ‘help you to help others’.
The Foundation is comprised of a core group of volunteers who sit on our Board and various Committees. These individuals contribute their time and expertise to help the Foundation grow and remain viable in the Community.
Our Board of Directors has a combination of elected individuals as well as appointed representatives from the District of Mission, Chamber of Commerce, Mission Public Schools #75, Mission Community Services, and the Fraser Valley Regional District. This diversity provides us with multiple points of view and helps us remain focused and strong.
We currently have 4 committees and they are:
Bursary & Scholarship Committee: These individuals are charged with reviewing, interviewing and recommending students for Scholarships and Bursaries. They dedicate three full days to interviewing the students and then work to match recipients with funds available. Their recommendations are taken to the Board of Directors for final approval and awards are presented.
Development Committee: This group of individuals are charged with developing marketing campaigns, website and social media changes, and contacting individuals and organizations to become benefactors. They meet monthly to discuss ideas and implement changes such as this new website.
Distribution Committee: This committee is in charge of grant dispersal. They review the grant applications three times yearly and make recommendations to the Board of Directors based on applicants and funds available.
Investment Committee: This committee meets quarterly to review our portfolio. The Foundation invests our money based on a pre-determined investment policy that safeguards the funds as much as possible through prudent investing.

After many happy years of being tenants of the School District, the Mission Community Foundation has left Heritage Park School to make room for more classrooms. While we have enjoyed our time with the schools, we understand the need and have moved out of the school...
