In 2007 Mission Association for Community Living received a $2000 grant for a Celebration of Community event. The event was to promote volunteerism and engage citizens in the community. Organize barrier-free, inclusive, public showcase of all non-profit groups, clubs, agencies, service providers, initiatives, businesses and community groups regarding mission; connecting people.

Rational for this event: One of the things Mission is outstanding at is volunteerism. We are aware that Mission is faced with expansion and growth. What can we put in place to help Mission’s community groups connect, share information and engage citizens? Folks ten to sign up for things in September so while the weather is still good, lets have an event to benefit everyone. Now in it’s 7th year, our humble effort is still growing and as long as people like us are here to put in on, we will be glad to – with the support of Mission Foundation, District of Mission and others.
