Adding Community to Its Name

As previously mentioned the Mission Foundation was created by an act of Parliament. Therefore, any changes to its Articles of Incorporation also had to be approved via a Private Members Bill at the BC Legislature.

On May 8, 2007 Doreen McKimmon and Gordon Taylor traveled to Victoria to make an application to the Government of BC for its name change to Mission Community Foundation. The application had the support of our MLA, Randy Hawes and was presented for approval on May 30th. The request was read and approved.

This resulted in a complete re-design of our logo to reflect the community it represents.
