In January of 2008 the Mission Rotary Sunrise Club came to Mission Community Foundation with a desire to start a scholarship fund for 2nd year students. They recognize that students apply and receive scholarships for their first year of post-secondary education but they rarely receive funding after that initial burst.
The objective of the fund is to provide additional funds to students who have successfully completed their first year of post-secondary education and plan to continue to work towards a degree or certificate.
Every year the Rotary Clubs of Mission Sunrise donates to ensure we can give at least one scholarship to a deserving student. Since inception the Rotary Sustaining Scholars Fund has provided $40,000.00 in scholarships to 29 students.
