As the province prepares for another provincial election and the citizens debate which party will be the most beneficial to the development and sustainability of British Columbia it is time to reflect on the accomplishments of the Mission Community Foundation as well as to look forward to where we will be in the future.
The Foundation started in 1987 humbly with 1 fund, over the last 30 years we have managed to grow to a total of 84 funds and an equity portfolio of just over $4 million dollars. We have successfully helped over 1600 students with their education with financial assistance in the form of bursaries & scholarships in the sum of $1.4 million. We have also assisted charity organizations in the Mission area by funding approximately $490,000 in grants.
Although we are proud of what we have accomplished to date, we do hope to accomplish much more in the future and as such, we will be making a special announcement at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 18, 2017. The meeting will be at English Tarts on main at 4:15 pm and we encourage your attendance if you are able to join us.
