James Muir Jr started this fund in memory of his parents who were very involved with our community.
James Sr moved to Canada in 1910 and worked for CIBC in a number of towns before settling in Mission. James Jr followed his dad’s footsteps and was a banker for 22 years as well as a recreational pilot. In 1976 he received a license to operate Klahanie Air, a charter float plane business and he left banking.
In 2007 after hearing about what the Mission Community Foundation has done for our community, James Jr started this fund. He started the fund with a nominal amount and has willed his home to the Foundation upon his passing. The funds primary goal is to assist the Mission Hospice society through granting of funds.
