James Slusarchuk FundJames Slusarchuk Memorial Fund

The James Slusarchuk Memorial Fund is an open scholarship available to any student graduating from a Mission Senior Secondary School who wishes to pursue post-secondary studies.  Further consideration is given to students who have demonstrated consistent effort, personal growth in their learning, as well as participation and contribution to community and/or school activities. Since inception this fund has provided 29 students with $25,000.00 in scholarships.

This fund was created by friends and colleagues from the Mission School District after Jim’s passing 1993.  Jim was an educator and Principal with the Mission School District for many years, as well as Headmaster at a private school in Maple Ridge before ending his career as a personnel officer with the Vancouver School Board.

The Slusarchuk family holds an annual golf tournament in Jim’s name and proceeds are donated to the Mission Community Foundation.  This ensures the fund will continue to grow and enables larger scholarship awards.

If you would like to help a student further their educational goals in any field, donate today!
