One Million Dollars in Awards Given
The date is May 2, 2007 and it’s the Mission Community Foundation’s scholarship awards night, held at the Clarke Theatre. It’s a big year for students with 70 being awarded a total of $92,000.00.
It’s also a big night for the Foundation as it marks the $1,000,000 plateau for awards given since inception 20 years earlier.
The ceremony also included additional funding, via grants, to the school’s dry grads to assist in providing a safe way for students to celebrate their graduations. The evening’s musical entertainment was provided by all three high schools; Affirmation, Show Choir and MeSS O’Notes.
